Monthly giving is a highly effective way to partner with us. Choosing an amount that is right for you is the place to start. $20 or more per month is an amount many of our supporters find works for them, and over the year helps us accomplish a wide range of rescue services. As a monthly donor, your generous gift becomes the foundation for our yearly planning. Any amount that you are able to give is deeply appreciated, whether it is monthly or periodically. You are welcome to click on our PayPal or Venmo services, or send a check to: Action for Animals, PO Box 835, Muncie, IN, 47308.
Most of our support comes from residents of Muncie and Delaware County. In addition, we are recognized by and partner with philanthropic organizations such as the Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County as an annual grant recipient. We also partner with the Jackie L Michael Foundation which supports part of our TNR and spay/neuter programs. The Ross Family Fund supports us each year. These grants provide about 1/3 of the funds needed to do our work in the community. The remaining 2/3 come from generous donors, like you, who recognize AFA's consistent, long-term animal rescue work in the community--day by day, year by year since 1980.
The cost for us to spay/neuter averages $75 per cat. This includes a rabies vaccination, spay/neuter surgery and an ear tip. To TNR 200 cats per year costs $15,000. We have done up to 400 cats per year.
Our adoption fees cover a portion of the actual cost to prepare a cat for adoption. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, provide medical services and microchip each cat. At an average cost of $200 per cat, minus an average of $100 adoption fee, our final cost for 200 adopted cats per year is about $20,000.
The Pet Pantry costs $10,000. This includes the costs to drive to get the supplies from various sources around the state and beyond, storage space rental, and the purchase of supplies at a reduced cost from special suppliers.
With our Pet Pantry, we are able to provide emergency pet food and supplies to residents. In addition, we share our supplies with other animal rescue organizations in the area. Volunteers spend many hours every month gathering these supplies and distributing them. This program relies on donations of supplies, people power and funding.
Individuals and businesses are invited to sponsor our Pet Pantry in all or in part. Sponsors will be acknowledged on the website if they choose. Contact us for more information.

At your request, our In Memoriam page will recognize gifts given to Action for Animals in the name of a beloved relative or pet. This can include a photo and other forms of memorial. We know how important animal rescue is to members of the community. As Muncie and Delaware County’s oldest, independent non-profit animal rescue organization, Action for Animals has helped thousands of residents and animals live a better life.
